Welcome to BROOKLYNBLUES.ORG!    BBO celebrates the great artistic and cultural expression of modern life! aka the Blues. The Blues is an intensely personal music and can function as a form of group psychotherapy, in fact singing or listening to the blues exorcises the feeling of the blues away. 


BBO's mission is  to keep the blues alive through education, commemoration, and demonstration of this great American art form.  By promoting the genre, supporting its practioners, and inspiring new blues talent.  In addition, BBO would like to grow a vibrant, electric live blues scene in Brooklyn, a place where blues music enthusiasts can rely on great blues entertainment.  We truly believe that  "The  Blues are the root and everything else is the fruit", which is why we support all genres of music that the blues has spawned.    


As an organization we encourage self-expression via music , we believe the blues can  lift the spirit and raise the consciousness. We collaborate with artists and artistic organizations in an effort to facilitate mutual support, and recognition.  We plan to keep the blues alive  by facilitating classes, a blues in the schools program, lectures, performances, and  blues parties!  So if you're a blues enthusiasts  get on our e-mail list, so we can keep you uupdated.
